KATA KATA MONKEY

This colourful wrap comes from Japanese textile house Kata Kata. Specializing in the traditional design technique known as Katazome, artists use stencils and dye-resistant pastes to create each line, dot, and stroke of the pattern. Once the pastes dry, lush and lively pigment is brushed over top or soaked directly into the fabric. The results are beautiful, intricate prints like this tangled tree design featuring a collection of curious monkeys and ripe persimmon fruit.
